Have you ever listened to a speaker and thought:
“Where is this going?”
Your audience might be thinking the same thing about you.
One of the most important things you can do early in your presentation is give your audience a compelling reason to listen to everything that follows.
I call it The Big Promise.
In this week’s Speaking Secret, you’ll understand why it’s so important and you’ll see how to create one.
Your Big Promise tells your audience what they’re going to get from spending the next 30, 45, or 60 minutes with you.
But here’s the key:
Your Big Promise has to pass the “Who cares?” test.
When people hear it, you want them thinking:
“Tell me more.”
Take a look at the opening of your presentation. What are you promising your audience?
Is that promise strong enough to make them want to stay for the journey?
