Step 1: Think about a specific part of your speech and ask yourself, “What’s my audience likely thinking right now?” For example, they might be thinking that they’re not wearing enough items to change 12 things.
Step 2: Use a stem and verbalize their thoughts. For example, “You’re looking at me as if to say, ‘Craig, I don’t even have 12 things on!'”
